·          Tomorrow is TOASTY warm Hat Day! Please allow your student to wear their​ warmest toastiest hat.

·          Band Christmas Concert – Dec. 14 @ 7:oo PM @ North Point Baptist Church, Weaverville NC.  Make plans to go and see PCA’s 4th grade student, Miss Lily Ponder.

·          His Kids Program – Dec. 14 @ 6:00 PM @ WHBC in the sanctuary.

·          Christmas Program/Early Release: Dec. 15.  Morning Care will not be provided on this day and it is requested that students be dropped off at 8:30 AM.  The Christmas Program will begin at 9:00 AM with students being released for Christmas break immediately following the program.  Everyone is welcome to attend.​

·          Christmas/New Year Break: December 18, 2017 – January 1, 2018

·          MLK Jr Day – January 15 – No School

·          Early Release/TWD – January 19

·          Parent/Teacher Meeting – If you would like to schedule a meeting with your students teacher, please contact the school.

·         Inclement Weather & Snow Make Up Plan: Administration will strive to determine whether or not to convene school by 6:15 AM on the morning in question. Announcements of school closings, delayed openings, and/or early dismissals due to weather conditions will be announced through the following multi-media outlets:

·         WLOS Website (wlos.com)

·         PCA Facebook Page

·         Email 

Parents are always encouraged to listen for “Special Announcements” when there are any abrupt changes in the weather.

Please keep in mind that on weather related school delays, for the safety of all school personnel, supervising staff will NOT arrive to open school doors more than fifteen (15) minutes prior to the delayed opening time. Morning Care will not be provided on days in which we open on a delayed schedule.

*As a general rule, Providence follows Buncombe County School advisories. However, parents should feel free to use discretion and keep their children home if weather conditions are bad in their area.

                Snow Make Up Plan: Our Board has approved the following plan to help Providence avoid the necessity of scheduling excessive make up days when we encounter inclement weather.

·         Whenever inclement weather is expected, students will be instructed to take their books, folders, etc. home with them at the end of the day.

·         If regular classes are canceled the following day, assignments will have been sent home in the daily folder, emailed, and/or posted online for students to complete.

·         Assignments will be turned in on the first day back at school.
